The Retreat Yourself Backpackers is perfect for solo travellers, digital nomads or those looking to meet like-minded festival friends. Both mix-gender and female only tickets are available depending on which kind of room configuration you’d prefer.

Located on the neighbouring Rusty Gate farm, just 4 km from the festival site. Access is via a dirt road with a steep cliff. Please drive with caution, particularly at night.

The Retreat Yourself Backpacker Cottage at Rusty Gate includes:

Two Dorm sleeping areas:

– Downstairs room for 10 people in 5 bunk beds set up as a mixed dormitory.
– Upstairs room for 10 people in 10 single beds reserved for women only.
– 2 private showers, each with its own basin.
– 2 private toilets, each with its own basin.
– Fully equipped kitchen with scullery and pantry.
– Large double door fridge/freezer, large fridge and small chest freezer.
– 2 large Smeg cookers with gas hobs and electric ovens.
– Microwave Oven, Ice Maker, Urn & Kettle.
– Crockery & Cutlery.
– Pots, pans, dishes, cooking utensils and more.
– Socialising lounge area with comfortable couches, pool table, bar area with fridge, woodburning stove, various games and puzzles.
– Large undercover built-in braai facility with central firebox and 2 braai grids

– Small splash pool.
– Dam and hiking trails on-site.
– Ample parking for up to 20 cars.

Your bed ticket includes one cottage priority parking ticket which allows you to park close to the festival entrance during the event.

Festival tickets are not included in accommodation and must be purchased separately.
