We know planning for Retreat Yourself can feel overwhelming at times. This page is home to everything you need to know when planning our time together.

Bringing Your Family

At Retreat Yourself, inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do – and that means creating a space where everyone feels welcome, including families. Whether you’re arriving with little ones or older children, you’ll find a village that embraces all ages with care, connection, and community.

where to stay

Thula Corner is our dedicated family neighbourhood – a quiet, tucked-away space designed for those who prefer a bit more rest and relaxation. Situated away from the bustle of the main festival areas, it’s ideal for families with younger children and earlier bedtimes.

Safety

When checking in, all children will receive a special wristband with their parent or guardian’s name, contact number, and their camping neighbourhood.

Once you’ve settled in, we encourage you and your children to familiarise yourselves with the Information Station – this will serve as the meeting point should anyone get separated. It will be staffed by our friendly RY volunteers until 9pm each evening.

To help keep our little villagers safe, we also have dedicated lifeguards on duty at the rivers throughout the day.

While we’ve taken every measure to ensure the safety of all attendees, parents and guardians are ultimately responsible for the supervision and wellbeing of their children.

Kids offerings

We’re proud to offer a wide range of age-appropriate activities to keep our younger villagers engaged, inspired, and entertained all weekend long.

You’ll find family-friendly offerings at the Kids Club, Village Cinema (featuring child-friendly screenings), and even within many other spaces across the festival. Full details will be available in the schedule closer to the event.

Please note: Children remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian at all times.

Kids Club

The Kids Club is a fun and enriching space curated just for little ones. With trained staff, a variety of creative and engaging activities, and a warm, safe environment, it’s the perfect spot for your child to play while you attend an offering or a workshop solo.

Children must be signed in and out by their parent or guardian each day.
